Christmas in the Time of Corona

12.25.2020 by Leah // Leave a Comment

I honestly thought that Christmas is canceled this year.  Which suits me just fine because I don’t feel like celebrating.  I lost my daddy last May, and this is our first Christmas without him.  I missed his cooking: his penne pasta, the famous lumpiang shanghai and sometimes he would whip up meatloaf that we will later on eat with pandesal. If Liam is here in Manila, am sure ... READ MORE

Holiday Highlights {2015}

12.30.2015 by Leah // Leave a Comment

For the first time in many years, I started my Christmas preparations late.  As in really late.  If not for our week-long break due to the APEC summit held in Manila last November, I wouldn't be able to start wrapping gifts. Swamped with work and project deadlines, I skipped decorating our apartment for Christmas.  I thought I'll have to forego Christmas shopping as ... READ MORE

Gingerbread Houses

12.26.2015 by Leah // Leave a Comment

A (Belated) Merry Christmas to y'all! I hope everyone had a great Christmas celebration! The hubby and I spent Christmas Day at Hyatt City of Dreams, reliving our spectacular Christmas Eve stay there last year.  A lot of restaurants have opened since our last stay there (during my birthday early this year); giving us more food choices to explore and discover. As I am ... READ MORE

A Week-Long (Free) Vacation

11.21.2015 by Leah // 2 Comments

Where and how did you spend your APEC week vacation? I spent mine mostly at home; taking the days off as opportunity to catch up on cleaning and to do the things that were forever in my to-do lists. It was not purely R&R though; I have to check my office email at least once a day to see if there are urgent matters to attend to, update reports and review our ... READ MORE

From Russia with Love: Lomonosov Porcelain

10.24.2015 by Leah // 3 Comments

Here's another teacup story, originating all the way from Russia and with a colorful history to share, too. A teacup collector would not miss Lomonosov's Cobalt Net design because of this interesting fact: it was based on the blue net pattern painted into the porcelain dinnerware pieces of Catherine the Great (source). More than that, I think what makes owning a ... READ MORE

Christmas Home Decors at The Landmark

10.04.2015 by Leah // 5 Comments

It's that time of the year again! Christmas trees are now on display at the Landmark and they're all so festive! My favorite is the one decked with polyresin figurines of Santa Claus, angels and snowmen: Up close: I found the wooden carousels as ornaments in another Christmas tree.  It comes in pack of 6's and costs only ... Christmas Candy Jars

09.26.2015 by Leah // 7 Comments

It's gonna be October in a few days and I have not even started with my Christmas list yet!  But I have a good idea already of what to give as Christmas giveaways this year: glass jars filled with Christmas-themed candies.  I like the idea of giving something reusable and filled with sweet treats! How about these as inspirations? Here's another version of ... READ MORE

The Good Stuff #7

01.10.2015 by Leah // 2 Comments

I'm still hung up for the holidays, and who isn't?  The chilly January weather makes me crave for coffee and sweet dessert (aside from sleep) any time of the day! Let me share with you some of the good stuff I discovered while on a 2-week Christmas break last year.  I can't believe I had so much sweets(!), but all were in eaten in moderation naman  =) ... I'm glad I invested in this Freshair 3 air and sur I'm glad I invested in this Freshair 3 air and surface purifier last year. It's the only air purifier in the market with proven technology to kill 99.96% of Airborne and 99.98% of Surface SARS-CoV-2 👍 I had it placed in the office so I don't need to bring anymore my portable UV sterilizer and portable plasma ion purifier. With Manila on extended GCQ and the vaccine roll-out still being finalized, we cannot afford to be complacent. Mas lalo pa dapat mag-ingat with various new strains coming out, too 😬 Safety should be our top priority 👍 @freshairpurifiers
Found these Muji-inspired (or should I say, rip-of Found these Muji-inspired (or should I say, rip-off) stackable organizers at Shopee 😁 I think they're 3x cheaper than Muji's and they look durable! Proudly Made in the Philippines pa 😜 #shopeeph #shopeefinds

Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will c Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will celebrate it in heaven na ☁️☁️☁️ Pero kasama mo pa rin kami magce-celebrate. Same as last year, we will celebrate it at home dahil may #covid_19 pa rin. You will remember that last year, yours is the first birthday we celebrated in quarantine. I just came from Baguio (for work) and someone from our group tested positive. Hindi na tayo nakapagpa-picture dahil puro nasa #covid_19 ang attention natin. We miss you, daddy! I hope you like your flowers today, mas marami na green leaves kaysa flowers. Just the way you like it. 💚💚 #theoriginalplantito
This Pecan Bread Pudding from @ecoookie is a disco This Pecan Bread Pudding from @ecoookie is a discovery of my foodie mom @minildade and it is my favorite #quarantinedessert so far. It taste of home, with warmth and love in every bite! 💕 It's great for breakfast or even as dessert. Best eaten warm with vanilla cream generously poured on top! 😋
I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, b I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, bigger and hotel-like Makati Medical Wellness Center at Ayala North Exchange. It's so spacious and so safe in there. I wore double masks (KN95 and fabric mask from @quins.ph) and my favorite scrub cap from @unisol.ph_ with buttons on both sides for the mask ear loops. It kept my ears from hurting and kept my hair intact too. Never mind if I look more like a nurse than a patient here 😁 Safety first over porma 😜
