As you may have noticed, I have lots of travel posts here in the blog that features Tagaytay. Whenever AJ and I wanted a change of scenery, a weekend getaway or an impromptu day trip - we almost always find ourselves in Tagaytay, which is just a 2-hour drive from Manila. Last week was particularly stressful to us both - him with an impending system go-live (scheduled next ... READ MORE
Food Post: Rekados Cafe & Restorante
Cruising along Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Highway, you will find rows and rows of tarpaulin ads for Rekado Cafe and Restorante - the newest restaurant to open in Tagaytay. The tarpaulins showed pictures of their select menu - which is a fusion of Filipino, Spanish and Italian dishes. It was these tarpaulins that convinced me and AJ to take our lunch stop there, when we went to ... READ MORE
A Day at Sky Ranch Tagaytay
It's been years since I've last been to an amusement park. Although it's a happy place to be in, I just cannot understand why the passes and rides have to be so expensive. I guess this is the reason why twice ko lang na-visit ang Enchanted Kingdom, hehe. When AJ and I made an impromptu stop at Sky Ranch in Tagaytay last Sunday (where we spent the weekend with his family), ... READ MORE
A Different Dining Room at Gourmet Farms
Three (3) Sundays ago, AJ and I went to Silang, Cavite with my good friend and kumare, Chel and her mom, Tita Chit. We were there on a "secret mission" (will tell you when it's a done deal hehe!) and Tita Chit and Chel invited us to have lunch at The Dining Room at Gourmet Farms. It was my first time to be there, and I was totally "enchanted" by the place. I love the ... READ MORE
Bag of Beans
We celebrated my dad's 65th birthday last Monday at Tagaytay City. We left Manila at around 9:00 a.m. and was there just before lunch time. After taking a short tour of People's Park, we headed off to Bag of Beans for a late lunch (side story: we were supposed to eat at ViewPoint but could not find it so we ended up here). This is not the first time I've been to Bag ... READ MORE
Birthdays and Estrel’s Cakes
Today is my dad's birthday (Happy Birthday Daddy!). He turned 65 but we opted not to hold a big party for him (as others are wont to do, since it's a milestone age). We know that his only wish was to spend his birthday with Liam, his only apo (only grandchild) so last Saturday, my brother and his family flew from Cebu to surprise him. AJ and I picked them up at the airport, ... READ MORE
Gideon’s First Birthday
Oh, I almost forgot to post pictures of Gideon's first birthday celebration. Remember the Tagaytay trip we took last month? It was for Gideon's 1st birthday. He's the youngest son of my officemate, Eve, and it was really a very happy birthday for this little boy who loves cars! I took pictures of the venue which was transformed into a lively place with lots of ... READ MORE
Sunday Trip at Tagaytay (Part 2)
We made several stops at the main road going to Manila. It's not because of a car emergency or anything alarming, but because we could not resist checking out these items: We don't have a garden at home but I have a gut feel that the elusive ceramic garden stool I've been lusting after is somewhere in these big vases and pots. The lady manager said that they have those ... READ MORE
