Our Jackpot Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Ganache

09.16.2013 by Leah //

We posted both at Instagram and Facebook this picture of the chocolate cake that we baked last night, and it made a lot of our friends crave for one!   For our first try, this is really a jackpot cake!  From the smooth and intense chocolate ganache to the moist and almost melt-in-the-mouth soft cake - everything was what we hoped for a classic chocolate cake. This cake ... READ MORE

Food Post: 10 Dove Street

09.12.2013 by Leah //

I first read about 10 Dove Street from one of my favorite bloggers, Ms. Aileen of Travel.Food.Finds.  She takes really amazing photos, and I bet you too will drool over her yummy pictures of the cakes she and her friend had when they visited this quaint little café nestled inside a residential subdivision in Cebu (read her blog post here). Yes, the quaint little café is ... READ MORE

Food Post: Tymad Bistro (in Cebu)

09.07.2013 by Leah //

On a beautiful Saturday last week, my brother Dino and sis-in-law Juvvy treated me to breakfast at Tymad Bistro, which is just a walking distance from their home. What is 'Tymad'?  Tymad means “good house” or “good restaurant.” The word is actually from a Celtic language that originated from Brittany in France, where crepes came from. (source) I regretted being in ... READ MORE

A Sunday Well Spent

08.04.2013 by Leah //

I can't believe it's gonna be Monday already.  It felt like I had only a day off from work this week because I worked at home yesterday to finish a policy paper that's due before the 15th of this month. It's a good thing AJ scheduled the car check-up also yesterday so we decided to take it easy and just stay at home.  We cooked dinner and enjoyed the Royce Nama Chocolate as ... READ MORE

A Reunion with a Surprise Birthday Cake!

02.06.2012 by Leah //

I turned a year wiser today (!) but last weekend, I already celebrated my natal day in advance during a reunion with my long-time friends, Denise, Roy and Jan, whom AJ and I met at the Podium. We had dinner at Banana Leaf, known for its Asian fusion menu.   Our menu consisted of a mix of vegetables, seafood and meat.   Each has its own flavor, but all were distinctly ... READ MORE

Sweet Gifts for Christmas

12.09.2011 by Leah //

Christmas is that time of the year where we receive the most number of C's - cookies, cakes, chocolates and candies.   All sweet food!  And we love receiving them, right? Unfortunately for me, I am not a sweet-tooth person but I do crave for one once in a while.    On the other hand, AJ loves sweets.   But I do appreciate good dessert food (as long as it's not sugary sweet) ... We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes an We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes and french toast of @grampancakesph without going out - thanks to @grabfoodph ! I used to love taking pics of food for #foodstagram but now that everything's in takeout boxes, nakakatamad mag-food styling hehe! Anyway, whether it's in fancy plate or takeout box - the food should still taste good. And this one definitely did not disappoint! The souffle pancakes were oh so good, and despite traveling in a box were really soft up to the last bite. Yumyum! #doitforthegram

Our first summit event under the new normal. It wa Our first summit event under the new normal. It was so nice to finally see everyone face to face and have uninterrupted discussions that lasted past 8pm! I get to enjoy free coffee the whole day too. ☕️☕️☕️ Two things I find cute though: everyone now carries a disinfectant spray or alcohol (in every shape and brand), and wears a lanyard for their face mask 😄 #NCRFSDSummit
