In Spotlight: Our Seat Plan

08.18.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Wow!  I received a few queries today about our seat plan.  It seems that my sisters at Weddings at Work (or the famous W@W) liked and have adopted my idea of a seat plan and have sent their inquiries to Joy of the Monogram Hub. Their common question was:  Where did we print the seat plan? We had ours printed in a plain tarpaulin by our neighbor who has a small printing ... READ MORE

Supplier’s Review: Hizon’s Catering

08.16.2011 by Leah // 3 Comments

Among all our suppliers, Hizon's Catering is probably the one which gave me all the emotions I would feel as a bride:  excitement, jitters, stress, relief and happiness! Let me tell you the reasons why: Excitement.   Hizon's is one of our non-negotiable suppliers and we have decided early on during our wedding preparations that we will no longer try other caterers.   ... Wedding Pictures from Von Lazaro

08.02.2011 by Leah // 4 Comments

It's worth the wait! That's our reaction when we finally saw some of Von's pictures which we were able to download last weekend.  A CD full of his raw and edited shots will be picked up from his studio this week, but I am equally thrilled to share with you some of the pictures he has uploaded in advance: Our Rosary Wedding Cord by sis Eyzel. Our Wedding Bands from Matus ... READ MORE

Supplier’s Review: The Pergola

07.31.2011 by Leah // 5 Comments

Next to the Church, the reception venue is the more challenging and therefore more stressful item on a bride-and-groom's wedding list. I believe we actually spent more time looking for a venue than for the rest of our wedding suppliers. A lot of factors came into play during the decision-making process - like the location, size and amenities it offers. We initially ... READ MORE

Sad and worried…

07.23.2011 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Should I worry about not having received any wedding pictures from my other photographers?   Although Nat has already promised to send the raw pictures by post, I haven't received any from Von Lazaro yet, our back-up photographer.  I am expecting more from him since he was the only one paid for his services.   The rest took our photos pro bono, as a ... Wedding Pictures from Nat Lamano

07.13.2011 by Leah // 1 Comment

I got the second batch of pictures from Nat Lamano, our photographer friend who rendered his services free for our wedding (thanks so much, Nat!).You saw the first batch of his pictures here, taken at Hotel Celeste.    He got an eye for detail, and while his are post-processed pictures, he did not go over-the-top.   You know I hate it when I see ... Supplier’s Review: Hotel Celeste

06.22.2011 by Leah // 1 Comment

Booking Hotel Celeste was one of the happy decisions we made during our wedding.   The booking process itself was stress-free (thanks to Ms. Macky, our reservations officer) and it was done online.  We got really good price with direct booking (it's much cheaper than booking through Agoda or any other online ticketing agency) and I got my dream room to boot!Look ... Supplier’s Review: Top Cakes (c/o Hizon’s)

06.17.2011 by Leah // 1 Comment

We've always wanted a chocolate-colored cake for our wedding.    And since our wedding cake is packaged with Hizon's, I chose a design that is easy to replicate to make sure that it will come out nicely. Here's our inspiration for the cake:Instead of butterflies, we asked Hizon's to inform Top Cakes, their wedding cake supplier, to put in white flowers. We ... Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will c Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will celebrate it in heaven na ☁️☁️☁️ Pero kasama mo pa rin kami magce-celebrate. Same as last year, we will celebrate it at home dahil may #covid_19 pa rin. You will remember that last year, yours is the first birthday we celebrated in quarantine. I just came from Baguio (for work) and someone from our group tested positive. Hindi na tayo nakapagpa-picture dahil puro nasa #covid_19 ang attention natin. We miss you, daddy! I hope you like your flowers today, mas marami na green leaves kaysa flowers. Just the way you like it. 💚💚 #theoriginalplantito
This Pecan Bread Pudding from @ecoookie is a disco This Pecan Bread Pudding from @ecoookie is a discovery of my foodie mom @minildade and it is my favorite #quarantinedessert so far. It taste of home, with warmth and love in every bite! 💕 It's great for breakfast or even as dessert. Best eaten warm with vanilla cream generously poured on top! 😋
I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, b I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, bigger and hotel-like Makati Medical Wellness Center at Ayala North Exchange. It's so spacious and so safe in there. I wore double masks (KN95 and fabric mask from @quins.ph) and my favorite scrub cap from @unisol.ph_ with buttons on both sides for the mask ear loops. It kept my ears from hurting and kept my hair intact too. Never mind if I look more like a nurse than a patient here 😁 Safety first over porma 😜
Taken in February last year just as Japan was star Taken in February last year just as Japan was starting to feel the effects of the #covid_19 pandemic. Hiroshima is a beautiful city and here I was able to take off my face mask because halos walang tao sa mga tourist sites that we went to. Hindi lang halata here but my hands were already burned because of too much washing with disinfectant alcohol 😬

So grateful to have visited this historic city in this extraordinary time.
