A Tale of 3 Books

01.23.2012 by Leah //

I was able to pick up on my book reading over the long break last December, and there were 2 books that I was able to see through its ending, and one that I simply could not process anymore and decided to retire in our "book box". The 2 books that I finished till the end were Cleaving: A Story of Marriage, Meat and Obsession by Julie Powell and The Lost Symbol by Dan ... READ MORE

One Day by David Nicholls

11.09.2011 by Leah //

I've just finished this book and I totally love it - the story, the writing style of David Nicholls, the characters.  Just everything about this book is brilliant! Now, I am not really a fan of books-turned-into-a-movie (except for the Harry Potter books) but when I learned that Anne Hathaway got the role of Emma Morley,  I know I just have to watch the book's film ... Books for Sale

11.07.2011 by Leah //

I know this post is kinda off, but just to let you know, I sell my old books at eBay to be able to buy new titles hehe. I love books but we don't a library in which to store all of them in.   And with the rising prices of books today, I find it practical to re-sell those that I'm done with, especially since I'm not the type who will re-read a book again and again.   Lastly, ... A Christmas Party in September

09.12.2011 by Leah //

My colleagues at the office decided to celebrate our Christmas Party very early because of the impending office re-org that will see us being transferred to different units.   It became our farewell party as well. The party was held at my boss' house (or should I say, mansion?) somewhere in Quezon City.  It was a sight to behold!   The Christmas lights adorning his house ... READ MORE

Starting on our book collection

06.28.2011 by Leah //

AJ and I love to read books.   It is our common denominator.   His interests and mine were not exactly the same but we somehow influenced each other with each other's preferences.   I remember when we were still in the getting-to-know you stage he gifted me with the book "See No Evil: The True Story of a Ground Soldier in the CIA's War on Terrorism" by Robert Baer.    This was ... A book about a storm…

06.21.2011 by Leah //

It's been raining hard since last Saturday, no thanks to typhoon "Egay" which dumped rains in the Metro until yesterday afternoon. And just when I thought the weather will clear up today because the storm is supposed to have left the country, another episode of strong winds and afternoon showers greeted me on our way home.    So I think I will sleep half-soundly tonight if ... We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes an We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes and french toast of @grampancakesph without going out - thanks to @grabfoodph ! I used to love taking pics of food for #foodstagram but now that everything's in takeout boxes, nakakatamad mag-food styling hehe! Anyway, whether it's in fancy plate or takeout box - the food should still taste good. And this one definitely did not disappoint! The souffle pancakes were oh so good, and despite traveling in a box were really soft up to the last bite. Yumyum! #doitforthegram

Our first summit event under the new normal. It wa Our first summit event under the new normal. It was so nice to finally see everyone face to face and have uninterrupted discussions that lasted past 8pm! I get to enjoy free coffee the whole day too. ☕️☕️☕️ Two things I find cute though: everyone now carries a disinfectant spray or alcohol (in every shape and brand), and wears a lanyard for their face mask 😄 #NCRFSDSummit
