It’s been a while since we last ate at Orchard Road, the restaurant which promised a taste of Singapore when it opened a few years back. Their hainanese chicken meal used to be my favorite, and after an enjoyable meal of roasted chicken at Wee Nam Kee, I realized that we haven’t tried the roasted chicken there yet. So off we went to satisfy our cravings for yet another round of roasted chicken meal!
I love the cafeteria-style ambiance of this restaurant. It’s also clean and roomy.
Their roasted chicken meal includes the chicken, sweet chili sauce, white rice and clear soup.
A closer shot of the roasted chicken…
And the verdict? It tasted okey but not as good as the one from Wee Nam Kee. Personally, I find the chicken a bit bland so I have to request for the ginger and oyster sauces (which comes with the hainanese chicken order, and not the roasted chicken) to add more flavor. But at P195.00, this hearty meal is definitely a steal.
And oh, we surprisingly liked their Mee Goreng (also priced at P195.00) too, which we requested to be mildly hot only. It comes with a nice, salty-sweet flavor that I loved. Although I’m not sure how authentically good this dish was because I haven’t tasted the Mee Goreng from Singapore yet.
Orchard Road also serves other Singaporean dishes which, judging from the way our orders tasted, would taste just about average, not enough to leave a lasting impression to foodies out there.
