Chicken Sisig a la Mama Sita

08.18.2012 by Leah //

I found this at the Landmark supermarket and since AJ and I love sisig, we just have to try making one at home!

Cooking your own sisig using Mama Sita’s ready mix is so easy!  I used chicken meat (instead of pork) and it came out pretty good!   First thing you need to do is to boil the meat until it’s cooked.   Then cut it into small pieces and fry  (you can also choose to grill it before cutting into small pieces).    While waiting for it to brown a bit, combine 1/2 cup water and the Mama Sita sisig spice mix to form a sauce.

Coat the meat with the sauce (do it in the pan while it’s still hot), then add chopped onions until all are evenly mixed.  Transfer to a sisig hot plate before serving.

Piece of cake, right?  And I tell you, they taste exactly like the original sisig from Pampanga!   It was so good(!) I ended up eating more than my usual cuppa rice!   Arrgh!

Mama Sita’s sisig spice mix is priced at only P24.15 (at the Landmark) and is available at all supermarkets nationwide.

    Hi Leah,

I think I just saw you yesterday at SM MOA, BDO in the afternoon, paying for your bills with your husband. You were wearing a yellow shirt. 😀 I was like, 3 people behind you. Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound stalker-ish, haha. I recognize you from your wedding photos. Also, I recognize your bag from your blog, lol.
