Cebu’s Taoist Temple

04.28.2012 by Leah //

The Taoist Temple in Cebu City is easily one of the places that you will love to take pictures of – with its colorful temples, structures and oriental figurines that clearly showcase the best in Chinese architecture.   It’s actually not just one temple (as its name suggests), but a number of temples nestled inside a wealthy subdivision named Beverly Hills.   It is the center of worship for Cebu’s Chinese community, that’s why when AJ and I went there as part of our Cebu itinerary, we were ever so mindful of the worshipers paying their respects inside the temples.

From the gate entrance, AJ and I have to climb the 99 steps see this majestic view:

The climb was all worth it.  We were rewarded with these colorful oriental sights, plus nice view of Cebu City, too:

I used my Panasonic Lumix LX5 for these photos, and got that Lomo-ish effect through Google’s Picasa  =)    I just love the burst of colors!

Cebu’s Taoist Temple is located inside Beverly Hills subdivision, and to get there just take a cab from anywhere in Cebu City  =)
