Let me share with you some pictures from Liam’s 1st birthday celebration last Saturday. I made sure to capture the details of his party so we could have something to look back to when we plan his next big birthday (when he turns 7).
Our celebrant has plentiful of guests (250 pax) so finding a venue that would fit this number of people and tots was the biggest challenge faced by his mommy. Thankfully their friends recommended DML Montessori School at New Manila. The space was big and is perfect for a kiddie party – there’s a little playground outside where kids could play.
Liam’s parents chose Verleo Catering for the food and the party planner from the Third Party or 3P Services. I liked how 3P Services took care of everything – from the styling, programme, the cake and also sourcing out the entertainment for the kids (which the adults ended up enjoying too).
We got a cowboy theme for Liam, but did not go overboard by putting a barn or hay all over the area. The color motif was, in fact, in cool shades of blue, yellow and orange:
The kids’ area in a classroom-type arrangement – nice!
The birthday cake – super cute!
They came with these cupcakes topped with more cowboy icons:
The stage backdrop, provided free by the photobooth supplier. Very nice sana but we did not expect it to be small =(
Liam’s loot bags were sourced and bought at Divisoria, and then lovingly assembled by his Ninang Tin. Here’s Juvvy, the proud mommy, posing with the loot bags:
For the side entertainment, they got a photo booth, glitter tattoo and balloon twisting corners which delighted both the kids and kids-at-heart.
The glitter tattoo corner was very busy all throughout the party.
Best tattoo design: Tinker Bell
The balloon sculptor was also very good, I love this hat he made for Maxine:
The photobooth (by Snap in a Box) was also an absolute favorite. People lined up to have their pictures taken. Here are some of my mug shots hehe (with AJ, Maxine, Raine and May):
Now, let’s talk about the food! They’re plenty and were all good! We saw guests going back for their second serving!
Juvvy made all these chocolate lollipops and other choco goodies – they have “sold out” even before the party ended!
There were also ice cream and fish balls food carts which were tremendously enjoyed by the guests. I was only able to taste the ice cream which I ate ahead of the actual feast.
As for the program, it was short but filled with fun and unique games / special numbers. Take this one from the Yoyo Master, Glenn, which both the kids and adults adored (can’t count the number of times they clapped on this one):
They also played this popular game using toilet tissue. The kids got the instructions correct only on the 3rd try haha! (wala k’se nag-demo eh)
Liam and his mommy handing out the prizes to the game’s winners:
The longest “Happy Birthday” game. Kids simply do not tire out of this game.
Overall, Liam’s birthday party was a success. The place was packed and everyone enjoyed the food, the show and the games. =)
Now, I may not have organized the whole event but if I were to rate the suppliers, I would give them the following grades:
Venue: DML Montessori School – SATISFACTORY (the place is big enough to hold large number of people but there’s no lounge or an air-conditioned room for your baby celebrant to sleep on. In the case of Liam, he slept in a spare classroom, which only has an electric fan)
Caterer: Verleo Food Enterprises – VERY SATISFACTORY (food taste, serving and over-all service were all good; I also like their table set-up)
Party Coordinator: Third Party Services – VERY SATISFACTORY (the styling, balloon sculptures, program and over-all coordination were good; however, I think they have to improve on the host because the one we got was not working on some kind of talking points, and failed to inform the guests of the locations of the glitter tattoo and balloon twisting corners, as well as in informing them of the kids’ and adults’ buffet lines. But overall, their service is good, and I would get them again for any future kiddie party/ies we may have. Btw, the Yoyo Master, Glenn, is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. His performance was definitely a fresh one, especially if you are used to seeing magic shows and tricks during kiddie parties.
Photobooth: Snap in a Box – VERY SATISFACTORY (the staff were all helpful; the pictures’ quality were all good and they immediately gave us a CD copy of the pictures taken – how’s that for fast service? Plus, they gave us a free tarpaulin backdrop, which would have made me give them an EXCELLENT rating, if only this was printed in a bigger size).
That’s all. Sorry I cannot provide the estimate cost for each supplier, it’s the parents of the baby celebrant who shouldered the expenses for the above suppliers’. I’m sure their rates are available in their websites which I have linked with this post.
Hope you enjoyed this long one. Have a nice long weekend ahead!
