Purple Oven at Sacred Heart

07.30.2011 by Leah //

I’ll let you in a secret: Starbucks get their pastries from Purple Oven.  And the good thing is, Purple Oven just opened shop across the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, hence, the name Purple Oven at Sacred Heart.

I love this little dine-in area where you can try their freshly-baked products with a cup of warm coffee:

The popular Banoffee Pie at Starbucks is available here in its pie-size glory:

And also the Pistachio Stardust Cake…

And AJ’s favorite: Starbucks’ Donuts (although their version is smaller)

We also found ourselves drooling over these goodies at Purple Oven:

I know you’re curious about the price of the pastries there.  They’re cheaper than Starbucks of course, but then again, you won’t get Starbucks coffee here, hehe.

We bought a half-box of their Food for the Gods (Very good! Ideal gift for those with sweet tooth), a piece of their Sugar-Glazed Donut (to see if it tastes exactly like the one at Starbucks hehe) and a piece of their Chorizo Roll (a bit salty, according to AJ).

So whenever we’re craving for some Starbucks meal at home, we can just drop by Purple Oven at Sacred Heart and then make our Starbucks coffee with Starbucks Via Ready Brew coffee sachet.  =)

Thanks Leah. And nice blog! I added yours to my wedding blog, http://kekkon-suru.blogspot.com/
I love Purple Oven’s food for the gods and revel bars. But the branch in Pasig is too far from our home, though I am also from Pasig.
    Happy blogging!

[…] to this Shrine won’t be complete without dropping by at Purple Oven, which I blogged about last year but surprisingly is still getting more page views than all of my food posts combined […]

We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes an We were able to try the famous souffle pancakes and french toast of @grampancakesph without going out - thanks to @grabfoodph ! I used to love taking pics of food for #foodstagram but now that everything's in takeout boxes, nakakatamad mag-food styling hehe! Anyway, whether it's in fancy plate or takeout box - the food should still taste good. And this one definitely did not disappoint! The souffle pancakes were oh so good, and despite traveling in a box were really soft up to the last bite. Yumyum! #doitforthegram

Our first summit event under the new normal. It wa Our first summit event under the new normal. It was so nice to finally see everyone face to face and have uninterrupted discussions that lasted past 8pm! I get to enjoy free coffee the whole day too. ☕️☕️☕️ Two things I find cute though: everyone now carries a disinfectant spray or alcohol (in every shape and brand), and wears a lanyard for their face mask 😄 #NCRFSDSummit
