In my last post about our 2nd day in Ilocos, I mentioned about Paoay's best secret. It's none other than their famous sand dunes and Kuya Jeremy really urged us to give it a try as it's an experience that we will never forget. When we made a brief stop over at the Paoay Lake Viewdeck, Kuya Jeremy by then has sold us the idea of seeing the sand dunes and going for the ... READ MORE
New Year Feast
Happy New Year, everyone!!! How did your celebration go? =) Here at our home (my side of the family), we no longer strictly observe the Media Noche (Midnight Feast), where families gather together at the stroke of midnight to welcome the New Year and feast on lots of food. For several years, we have been having this feast at dinner time (instead of midnight), so we won't ... READ MORE
Day 2 in Ilocos: Laoag and Pagudpud
Our 2nd day in Ilocos was spent at Laoag and Pagudpud. The travel to Laoag from Vigan was approximately 2 hours and we were arrived in Laoag shortly before 8 a.m. A visit to Laoag won't be complete without seeing the Paoay Church, famous for its distinct architecture highlighted by the enormous buttresses on the sides and back of the building (from Wikipedia). Next we ... READ MORE
12 Round Fruits to Welcome the New Year
We were at Quiapo today to hear mass and buy round fruits for the Media Noche tomorrow. As the tradition goes, we have to have 12 round fruits (with no black seeds) at the dinner table tomorrow, for our year to be lucky and prosperous. We have counted 9 round fruits in our fruit platter so far, so tomorrow morning we need to head to the public market to look for 3 more ... READ MORE
Gadget Gifts
AJ and I decided not to give each other presents last Christmas and instead gifted ourselves with the following "investments": Got this really generous sale offer at Anson's Makati for an LG 32-inch LCD TV that we couldn't resist. Aside from its superb functions, the lay-away plan (P1,750 for 12 months) was too good to pass by. Now, see that black CPU at the left ... READ MORE
2011 is all about bright and bold accessories…
The year is about to come to a close and based on the fashion blogs I've read, 2011 saw the comeback of brightly colored accessories. This is the year where classic pieces adopted a pop culture approach with the choice of electric and bright colors. Below are some of the pieces that I liked and which are available at Net-a-Porter: ALEXANDER WANG's Prisma Leather Tote: ... READ MORE
Day 1 in Ilocos: Touring Vigan
(Warning: this post is picture heavy) We have been planning for our Ilocos trip as early as last month but the details were only finalized about a week before our actual travel (two weeks ago). Many thanks to my boss who owns the My Vigan Home Hotel in Vigan, our stay and trip to the tourist spots in Vigan as well as in some parts of Laoag and Pagudpud have been taken ... READ MORE
Cath Kidston’s Post-Christmas Sale
Don't miss the ongoing sale at Cath Kidston - lots of bags and accessories have been marked down and I'm working out with my officemate a way to combine our orders and have them shipped by Johnny Air =) I am, of course, eyeing this Chelsea Roses Holiday Bag that is in my Christmas Wish List. It's now marked down to $46.00 (from $62.00): The Mini Shooting Star Box ... READ MORE
