Another Afternoon Tea Break

01.05.2013 by Leah //

AJ and I managed to take a little break from the holiday rush last week, and holed up at the lounge of the New World Hotel in Makati for a simple afternoon tea. Simple because we just had some English Breakfast tea (it's TWG, natch!) and scones from the hotel.      The English Breakfast tea from TWG was divine and luxurious, but the scones were ... Food Post: Suzukin

01.05.2013 by Leah //

Oh, let me tell you about Suzukin.  We always pass by this little Japanese restaurant on our way home but AJ and I were only able to try it sometime last year with our wedding Ninang, Ninang/Mami Caro. Too bad the place was not well-lit.  It looks really small with its low ceiling and dark-colored chairs and tables. I soon forgot about the cramped space when the food were ... READ MORE

Hazelnut Addiction

01.03.2013 by Leah //

My newest coffee addiction:  Instant Coffee Hazelnut by Nescafe (Taster's Choice). I don't care if it's an instant coffee, artificially flavored and makes only a half-cup serving per packet.  Its sweet, nutty flavor is just divine - perfect for capping the night off! Available at major supermarkets for less than P200.00 per box (with 20 single serve packets).   Do try ... READ MORE

Another fresh new year is here…

01.01.2013 by Leah //

“Another fresh new year is here . . . Another year to live! To banish worry, doubt, and fear, To love and laugh and give! This bright new year is given me To live each day with zest . . . To daily grow and try to be My highest and my best! I have the opportunity Once more to right some wrongs, To pray for peace, to plant a tree, And sing more joyful songs!” - William Arthur ... Snapshots of our Ilocos Tour 2012

12.29.2012 by Leah //

Now that we're done with most of the Christmas reunions and cleaning our apartment, I can relax a bit and organize the rest of the pictures from our Ilocos tour.   You've seen most of the highlights of our tour: the picturesque Kapurpurawan Rock Formation and Kabigan Falls, and the impressively designed Malacanang of the North. Below are the other highlights of our Ilocos ... READ MORE

Decluttering our home before the New Year

12.29.2012 by Leah //

AJ and I took the day off yesterday to declutter our little apartment in time for the New Year.   The first time we did this was last year (our first year as a married couple) and have found it to be both therapeutic and fun!   So we vowed to do this every year on the week after Christmas, just before the New Year sets in. Now that doesn't mean I've been an OC my whole ... READ MORE

Malacanang of the North (“Malacanang Ti Amianan”)

12.26.2012 by Leah //

Before I totally get busy again (in preparation for the New Year), I wanna show you one of the landmarks we visited in Laoag, Ilocos Norte during our 2-day stay there. The Malacanang of the North (“Malacanang Ti Amianan”) served as the official residence/mansion of the late President Ferdinand Marcos whenever he's in Ilocos.  It's located in Suba, Paoay and sits on a land ...
