AJ’s Birthday Cake yesterday was from Purple Oven, no less!
Purple Oven’s bakeshop at San Antonio, Makati is near our place so you could say that this is our immediate “go-to” place when it comes to birthday cakes and other celebration cakes.
I had Purple Oven’s Apple Pie for my birthday and for AJ’s, we had their New York Cheesecake. Ms. Val of Purple Oven said that it was a very good choice, and indeed it was!
If you love Chicago Cheesecake from Coffee Bean & Co., then this one isn’t going to break your heart. In fact, I find this one richer in flavor compared to the Chicago Cheesecake from Coffee Bean.
This isn’t the most flattering picture I took of the cheesecake because it was taken during night time already, before our Japanese dinner with France, Vince and the cutie Sales boys, but I bet you a free slice you will LOVE it.
Here’s a more natural shot of the cheesecake in daylight:
The New York Cheesecake may look so plain in the picture but in truth, it’s packed with the best-quality cream cheese and freshest eggs, milk and butter. The cookie crust may not be as thick as I thought it would be (because outside it looked half as thick as the cheesecake) but I got no complaints on that, absolutely. In fact, for this one, I am more than willing to trade the cookie crust in exchange for more of the smooth and creamy cheesecake mixture. It’s sinful alright but each bite is worth indulging in.
