Sunburst Fried Chicken is Cebu’s version of Max’s Fried Chicken.
Their fried chicken is known for being crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
And that’s just about it. I have read food reviews saying that there’s nothing exceptional about Sunburst fried chicken, except the crispy skin, and I can agree to that. Their version of fried chicken is not at all flavorful (almost bland, in my taste), so you will need some ketchup or gravy on the side. Nonetheless, I liked how juicy it was and the crispy skin was so worth it (I’m saying this because I love chicken skin the most).
A typical Sunburst meal comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken, rice, coleslaw and fries. They also have a 1-piece chicken meal and a 3-piece one (go for this if you really, really love fried chicken).
AJ and I each had an order of the 2-piece chicken meal (called “Sunduo”) and added a single order of pancit canton. They turned out to be a perfect combination because the pancit canton was very flavorful, and that helped neutralize the bland taste of the chicken meat.
Our bill came at a little over P500.00 and that’s for 2 orders of Sunburst chicken meal, pancit canton and drinks already. I’d say it’s good value for good (but not exceptional) food.
Sunburst Fried Chicken is located at The Terraces, 2/F Ayala Center Cebu.
