They say big surprises come in small packages but not this one from Ms. Eirene of Eve’s Cakes and Sweets who dropped by our office today to deliver a cake order to an office colleague, and she left me this very delicious gift:
It’s Eireen’s version of Sans Rival (french words for “without rival”) which, as you can see in the picture above (taken in my new Sony Experia P – more on this soon!), is generously covered with nuts! It’s a very rich dessert that is best paired with hot black coffee (no sugar!) or tea.
This sans rival particularly has a chewy texture for its thick meringue wafers, sandwiched by rich butter cream filling folded with nuts. The butter cream filling may look thick in the picture but it’s not – so health-conscious dessert-lovers need not worry about drastically adding in weight.
Thanks so much for this lovely surprise, Ms. Eirene. I now have your sans rival and blueberry cheecake in my list of “Drool-worthy Desserts” =)
