Product Review: Novuhair 3-in-1 Pack Organic Hair Solution

07.06.2014 by Leah //

The combination of age (I’m in my late 30’s), thyroid disease (hyperthyroidism) and a stressful work environment made me very prone to hair loss.  I’ve actually been observing this since I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism more than 10 years ago, but it was not until recently that I decided to really do something about it because I feared that as I grow older, the more irreversible the hair loss will be.  And I don’t want to go bald!

It was a good thing I was asked to try Novuhair’s 3-in-1 organic hair solution.  Sakto ‘cos I’ve been eyeing their products for some time already.  I received my package last April.

P1200443_b

The package includes the following:

P1200467_b

Novuhair Herbal Shampoo.  This has been developed especially to prepare the scalp in an optimal way for the application of the Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion and is expected to enhance its effect.  Made with virgin coconut oil, peppermint oil, lemongrass oil, rosemary oil, lavender oil and safflower.

Novuhair Herbal Conditioner.  This contains standardized herbal extracts which moisturize and condition your hair giving it a shinier, softer and supple look.  Novuhair Herbal Conditioner has been formulated specifically to complement the use of Novuhair Scalp Lotion and Herbal Shampoo.

Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion.  Also contains standardized herbal extracts with essential oils and co-factor nutrients specially chosen for their hair growing properties.  The Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion penetrates the scalp to rejuvenate the hair follicles.  It provides optimum nutrition to help combat hair loss, thinning hair and improves blood circulation on the scalp which contributes to the stimulation of hair growth.

P1200459_b

The directions in using them are fairly simple:

  1. Apply the Novuhair herbal shampoo to wet hair and scalp, massage then rinse.
  2. Follow it up with the Novuhair herbal conditioner, massage then rinse.
  3. After shampooing and conditioning, towel dry your hair and apply Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion liberally to the entire scalp.  Massage for 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Rinse off with water or leave it on and style as desired using non-alcohol based hair products.

I had no problems using the shampoo and conditioner. They smelled great and have the same texture as my regular shampoo and conditioner.

It was the topical scalp lotion which I had a hard time getting used to.   My nose doesn’t like the smell.  As in!  Also, the lotion is in liquid form (I thought it will be creamy), which I find hard to work on my long hair.  Hindi ko rin makita if the lotion has penetrated my scalp already.

As a result, I used the lotion sparingly (during weekends only).   The shampoo and conditioner I used every day because I like their smell, and they lessened the itching of my scalp.  I also stopped having dandruff.

I did this routine for over a month, and noticed a stark difference in my hair:  it has become thicker and there’s sign of life in it na hehe!  It used to be dry and sabog, but now there’s some luster and vibrancy in there.  The hair loss is still there, of course, but what I’m more concerned of is how to grow new hair to replace the dead (and fallen) ones.

Encouraged by these positive developments, I decided to be “friends” again with the topical lotion.  I started applying it liberally all over my scalp during weekends , but during weekdays, I apply it only at that ‘bright spot’ above my big forehead (my Angelina Jolie forehead, hihi!).

After a month of doing this improved routine, I observed baby hairs starting to grow at the hairline above my forehead.   Hindi pa naman marami, but the important thing is, there’s a sign of growth na.

After more than 2 months of using Novuhair products, I can now wear my hair down with confidence!

P1210614_b

I will religiously apply the topical lotion now that I’ve seen little hairs growing above my forehead.  But I still hope Novuhair will improve this product to make it more “user friendly” and easier to apply.  If it can come up with a cream version of this product, the better.

Nevertheless, I am happy and relieved to know that with Novuhair, I can deal with my hair loss – the natural way.  No need for surgery or laser treatments, whew!

The Novuhair 3-in-1 Organic Hair Solution is priced at P4,980.00 and is available at the following stores:

  • Mercury Drug Store
  • Watson’s
  • South Star Drug
  • Rose Pharmacy

Grabe ako maglagas noon, as in nakkatakot. Pero ang gnawa ko, lagi ako may virgin coconut oil sa buhok overnight sya itinutulog ko. Nalessen yung paglalagas, hindi na nakakatakot. Pricey naman kasi yung Novuhair, galing din naman sa organic ingredients..

    Hi,

Just want to know the improvement from the time you posted your pic, what happened dun sa mga baby hair? Nag karoon kasi ako ng alopecia or most call it poknat or stress patch. At first hinayaan ko lang then after a year lumaki na sya and halos wala na ako hair just right above ng batok ko. Buti nalang nagagawan ng paraan ng barbero ko. I tried minoxidil solution which was recommended by a dermatologist pero after 4 bottles andun parin and walang improvement. Just want to make sure na effective yan? I’m willing to spend that amount if magnda ang result and effective. At this point I really need a solution to my problem. Im only 26.

    Thanks

    Konnichiwa! Great article.
A young Filipino here in Japan.
This hair vanishing I have adversely affect my confidence to the point that I have to wear cap everytime picture-taking is going.hahaha..and if possible no picture-taking at all.
Likewise, most of the time, it becomes a subject of joke to my friends.
Maybe this is due to my health condition.
I have problem too with my thyroid.
Last 2006 I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer.
I had series of radioactive therapy.
I already had tried many products…unfortunately, they only gave me false hope.
I just hope novuhair promises true hope.
    I will try.

    Hi Ms. Leah

Would like to know if really effective siya, i’ve used minox (had side effects – scaling) propecia (almost cost me of being impotent)

Really would like to know your routines, the food not to/or to eat, how you use it, when is the best time to apply

In short, your routines while you were usin this.
Though im a guy (might have different case)

But hope you could give a little light

    Hi,

I bought also the 2in1 product of Novuhair, im using it for 3days just want to share my experience and ask questions. During application of the shampoo i see alot of hair on my hand, this one alarms me; this happens to me before when using other shampoo, but not as many when i try Novuhair(maybe up to 50% added), is their something wrong when i apply it? (my method is apply it to thin part directly then massage but after seeing the hairs on my hand, on the next day i try just putting it on my hand then in my hair and scalp then massage). Thanks in advance for your advice/feedbacks.

Hi all! Thanks so much for all your comments about Novuhair. Unfortunately, I cannot answer each and every question you ask. I am still using whatever is left from the scalp lotion (para sulit hehe!). I am back to my brand of shampoo (I switch between Human Nature and Pantene) but with the use of Novuhair scalp lotion, my hair loss is no longer as alarming as before.

To those who want to know more about the product or have their ‘scalp situation’ evaluated properly, feel free to shoot Novuhair a message at http://www.novuhair.com/contact-us/.

      Thanks, all!
