Help flows into a flood of love despite multiple calamities

11.12.2013 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Note:  I am posting this PR material I received from Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water because it is attuned to the ongoing relief efforts for the victims of super typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan). There is a public service announcement at the end of this PR which, I think, is important for us to know.

*******************************************

The aftershock of calamities goes beyond downpours, flood waters, and tremors. More than the immediate devastation, the aftermath of disasters are often more destructive, especially when it affects the cleanliness and safety of the displaced population.

The Philippines is no stranger to natural calamities; in 2012, we registered the highest number of fatalities worldwide due to Typhoon Pablo. This year, aside from typhoons and monsoon floods, we also experienced earthquakes and manmade disasters, which exacerbated the lack of access to clean and safe food, water, and other emergency supplies.

To supplement the various efforts of Filipinos to aid disaster-stricken areas, the Lucio Tan Group of Companies has donated almost 100,000 liters of Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water to calamity-stricken areas in North Luzon and Central Visayas affected by recent typhoons and earthquakes. The Absolute Help Flows bottles come in 350ml and 6L packs to ensure that families and individuals are provided with clean water for drinking and cooking.

Says Dan Ong, Senior Brand Manager for Absolute Distilled Drinking Water, “Access to clean and safe water everyday, and most especially during emergencies, is necessary in ensuring that calamities do not turn into bigger tragedies through diseases. Absolute is on-hand year-round in ensuring that Filipinos maintain their health and peace of mind through clean and safe water, whatever calamity may occur.”

As a public service announcement, Absolute is requesting concerned citizens to report individuals or groups selling Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water with the “Help Flows” mark to their nearest DTI office. These bottles are allocated for disaster-stricken areas, and are NOT for sale.

Central Visayas, the region hardest hit by super typhoon Yolanda, needs all the help it can get.  So let us be vigilant as well of the unscrupulous and shameless individuals and establishments which will attempt to pocket, or worse, make money out of the relief goods intended for the victims.

Your contributions, big or small, will go a long way in helping our brothers and sisters in Leyte, Biliran, Samar, Iloilo, Aklan and Capiz survive the aftermath of Yolanda.

I'm glad I invested in this Freshair 3 air and sur I'm glad I invested in this Freshair 3 air and surface purifier last year. It's the only air purifier in the market with proven technology to kill 99.96% of Airborne and 99.98% of Surface SARS-CoV-2 👍 I had it placed in the office so I don't need to bring anymore my portable UV sterilizer and portable plasma ion purifier. With Manila on extended GCQ and the vaccine roll-out still being finalized, we cannot afford to be complacent. Mas lalo pa dapat mag-ingat with various new strains coming out, too 😬 Safety should be our top priority 👍 @freshairpurifiers
Found these Muji-inspired (or should I say, rip-of Found these Muji-inspired (or should I say, rip-off) stackable organizers at Shopee 😁 I think they're 3x cheaper than Muji's and they look durable! Proudly Made in the Philippines pa 😜 #shopeeph #shopeefinds

Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will c Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will celebrate it in heaven na ☁️☁️☁️ Pero kasama mo pa rin kami magce-celebrate. Same as last year, we will celebrate it at home dahil may #covid_19 pa rin. You will remember that last year, yours is the first birthday we celebrated in quarantine. I just came from Baguio (for work) and someone from our group tested positive. Hindi na tayo nakapagpa-picture dahil puro nasa #covid_19 ang attention natin. We miss you, daddy! I hope you like your flowers today, mas marami na green leaves kaysa flowers. Just the way you like it. 💚💚 #theoriginalplantito

It taste of home, with warmth and love in every bite! 💕 It's great for breakfast or even as dessert. Best eaten warm with vanilla cream generously poured on top! 😋
I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, b I had my annual mammo exam yesterday at the new, bigger and hotel-like Makati Medical Wellness Center at Ayala North Exchange. It's so spacious and so safe in there. I wore double masks (KN95 and fabric mask from @quins.ph) and my favorite scrub cap from @unisol.ph_ with buttons on both sides for the mask ear loops. It kept my ears from hurting and kept my hair intact too. Never mind if I look more like a nurse than a patient here 😁 Safety first over porma 😜
