I first read about 10 Dove Street from one of my favorite bloggers, Ms. Aileen of Travel.Food.Finds. She takes really amazing photos, and I bet you too will drool over her yummy pictures of the cakes she and her friend had when they visited this quaint little café nestled inside a residential subdivision in Cebu (read her blog post here).
Yes, the quaint little café is called 10 Dove Street which is also its address. You will find it inside Sto. Nino Village in Banilad, Cebu. The owner/s couldn’t have chosen a better name for this restaurant. Very easy name and address recall!
And because its name is basically a ‘home address’, you will indeed find yourself looking at a home when you see it:
Very clean and picturesque. I liked it that there are no distracting signage or posters outside.
I immediately felt ‘at home’ when we went inside the restaurant /café. You all know how I love everything shabby chic. This is an ultimate peg for a shabby chic home!
Details that I liked:
Highly recommended at 10 Dove Street is their meal set composed of gourmet sandwich in either white or wheat bread, with your choice of soup, salad and a slice of their scrumptious cake! All these for just….P220.00!
I highly recommend their French Onion Soup, which has a very pleasant beef and chicken broth, and was served with melted cheese as topping. Notice that the whole soup bowl was covered with cheese. Yummy!
I love everything about this soup: the flavor, serving size, temperature and the fact that the onions were not over-caramelized (which will render it sweet for my taste).
A soup as good as this will probably cost me almost P200.00 here in Manila but at 10 Dove Street, this hotel-grade soup was just an ‘overture’ to the superstar meal set that we had at P220.00 (per person).
Next to be served was the salad. I ordered Fandango, a mix of salad greens, walnuts, mandarin oranges, cubed cheese, croutons and raspberry vinaigrette.
This salad was superb! If you’d like to try something new, have this sweet salad bursting with flavors of fruits and nuts! The raspberry vinaigrette, on the other hand, was pleasantly refreshing.
My salad’s so packed and full of happy colors!
The gourmet sandwich, which was the main course, came next. I was craving for a chicken sandwich so I chose Chicken Santa Fe, which is chopped chicken fillet, tomato, bacon, cucumber and cheese in toasted white bread.
My sandwich tasted ordinary; I think I enjoyed the soup and salad better =) I should have skipped this sandwich part altogether had I known that I’ll have no more room for dessert after!
Or perhaps I’d have enjoyed it better if I copied my brother’s sandwich order instead, which is a sausage sandwich with caramelized onions. It looked so yummy! (and hindi sya nagpatikim hehe).
Still can’t believe that this superb meal set is only P220.00? Wait till you get to the dessert =)
The 10 Dove Street meal set ends with a slice of their signature cake. I chose the Fruit Medley simply because it’s so pretty!
Alas, me and my eating buddies Dino and Juvvy were so full by this time, so we decided to take home our cake slices (which I wasn’t able to try at all because me and my parents have to fly back to Manila in that afternoon already). Anyway, we got slices of the Fruit Medley, the best-selling Chocolate Decadence and Mocha Twirl (?).
I wish I could tell you more about these cakes! Surely, the best way to cap a sumptuous meal is to have a good cup of coffee and a slice of cake. I was only able to get up to the coffee part, which I enjoyed tremendously especially in this pretty china:
The coffee is no longer part of the meal set, by the way, but am sure you will not hesitate to order a cup or two since it’s just P50.00 per order!
It won’t be long before foodies from Manila flock to this hidden gem in the heart of Banilad in Cebu City for that splendid meal that costs the same as a Starbucks coffee in grande; and feast in its growing list of homemade cakes that is now building up a good Facebook following. And because it gets packed so easily now, making reservations in advance is highly encouraged.
I hope you’ll get to visit this address soon! As for me, I’ll surely be back to finish my cake dessert!

I looked at Uniwide already but can’t find floral-type designs. Puro Chinese designs (i.e. bamboo, Chinese writings, etc.) ang meron hihi.
