Another Afternoon Tea Break

01.05.2013 by Leah //

AJ and I managed to take a little break from the holiday rush last week, and holed up at the lounge of the New World Hotel in Makati for a simple afternoon tea.

Simple because we just had some English Breakfast tea (it’s TWG, natch!) and scones from the hotel.      P1060512b

The English Breakfast tea from TWG was divine and luxurious, but the scones were plain-tasting and crumbly.    They look good in pictures, though (hehe).

Next in our agenda would be an afternoon tea date at TWG Tea Salon and Boutique at Greenbelt 5.    Here you have to make seat reservations in advance to enjoy their extensive gourmet tea time sets:   twg-food-article-p-slideshow-05

The tea set (a selection of finger sandwiches, pastries, scones and your choice of TWG tea) starts at P500.00, and I can’t tell right now if that price is steep or reasonable since I’ve yet to try it.

Do you know of other afternoon tea sets that we should try?  We’ve had one at Manila Peninsula and so far, nothing beats that experience in my book!

Hello leah, we just had a tea party last saturday; actually it is an event with the wife of the senior pastor of ccf as the inspirational speaker for Christian military wives. We are all wearing fancy hats. Our food was like munchkins from jco donuts, chicken pie, and something like lemon cake slices from mary grace. We’ll still do it in the future. Thanks for the tips of having the paper doilies and the letter stamps bec we’ll use it also for the keepsakes.
