I don’t eat durian mainly because of its strong and penetrating odour, but when I tried a Durian Pie during a work trip in Davao City 3 weeks ago, I just couldn’t believe it has durian in it.
And how could I? It doesn’t smell funny and it looks so heavenly:
The taste simply blew me away! It tastes like a custard pie but distinctly original because of the durian. Think of a sweet and smooth custard filling mixed with blue cheese. Can you imagine that? If yes, then you will like this Durian Pie from Davao!
Too bad I wasn’t able to get the supplier of this exotic pie but am sure that there are plenty in Davao. So make sure to have one when you’re there or, better yet, buy a whole pie to take with you home and share with your family!
