You Are So Beautiful To Me, Jessica

05.03.2012 by Leah //

I’ve been following “American Idol” since I heard Jessica Sanchez sing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”.   I just love her voice(!) and I’m so proud to see her evolve from a shy, petite girl with a small talking voice (but big and impressive singing voice) into a Diva that she is now.

Tonight, the Idols were made to sing a song from the ’60s and a British song.  I thought she’ll be doing Adele (hehe!) but Jessica unexpectedly gave us “You Are So Beautiful To Me” by Joe Cocker.    Jessica gave the audience what they expected of her:  playful, hard-to-reach notes that only her can combine together without going over the top.  Totally effortless when you see on screen, but very artistically executed.

With this song, I think Jess has nailed her spot at the Top 4.  And I am definitely going to root for her all the way to the last round of American Idol.   How about you?

Just keep on picking the right songs for you, Jess, and I’m sure you’ll win it!
