Our stay in Cebu was not without fond memories of the restaurants that we tried. Our newest discovery was The Ranch in the old Banilad Road, thanks to my brother who took his family, me and AJ for a lunch there. The Ranch is known for its delectable beef and pork menu. It also has a meat shop where you could buy fresh meat always.
I couldn’t believe that I’ve never been here before, given that I’ve been to Cebu more than 10x already. You actually wouldn’t miss it, with its big signage in front and….
…a big Woody welcoming you at the entrance (minus one arm).
It’s styled with a western theme in mind, perfect for its name.
This is their #1 House Special: Beef and Pork Pot Roast. Absolutely the best! It’s good for 5-6 persons, and cost only a little over P200.
We also liked their Crusted Fish Fillet that is crunchy on the outside, but soft and juicy inside.
You just have to try their Cheese Quesadilla – it’s very plump and flavorful.
Their Chicken a la Kiev is okay, but it’s not something I would order again.
Our bill came at around P1,500, give or take a few, which is very cheap considering that we feasted on 3 heavy viands and a filling appetizer.
Now, the next time you find yourself somewhere in the old Banilad Road in Lahug, Cebu – do stop by The Ranch Restaurant and Meat Shop for a very good steak meal at a fraction of a cost. I bet you wouldn’t find anything like this in Manila.
