Human Nature has been around for sometime but it’s only recently that I got to try their products. I see them at bazaars all the time but never got to check them out, really. It’s very rare that I find organic products with a very affordable price tag so I really get excited when I see a Human Nature booth. But I get discouraged every time I see a crowd of people checking out their booth. I hate having to compete for the sales associate’s attention and I hate it even more when only a few products are available for sale (they’re so popular, they run out of stocks and even the sample products fast).
Thankfully, my friend Denise (of Kitchentales) is now a Human Nature Dealer too, and through her I was finally able to get hold of the products I’ve been wanting to learn about and try. She gave me a copy of the products catalogue, and I happily browsed through it and learned many good things about their products.
Aside from being a very successful brand, Human Nature is also a social enterprise. Instead of maximizing profits, the company chooses to optimize them by developing world-class organic farms and other enterprises – bringing jobs to farmers all over the Philippines. To date, Human Nature has citronella, lemongrass and even virgin coconut oil farms from Bulacan in the north down to Davao in the south – all of which have enabled the company to boost the production of their raw materials while at the same time creating thriving communities for the farmers.
There were just so many products to try but I opted to get these in the first order I filled out:
Purifying Facial Scrub (with strawberry seeds and fine bamboo granules). I love keeping my face clean (I don’t wear make-up) so I am always on the lookout for a good and effective facial scrub. I’m using Pond’s Anti-Bacterial Facial Scrub for years now and it’s really effective on my skin, but it leaves my face dry so I have to apply moisturizer after. I have to admit the strawberry smell of Human Nature’s facial scrub was the one which drew me in, but after using this product for just 2 weeks, I could feel the difference from my Pond’s facial scrub. This one leaves me with a soft and smooth skin, even without any moisturizer on! AJ also uses this (more than me!) and swears by its effectiveness in keeping his skin smooth and clear. We super love this product and hope that Human Nature will never discontinue this line. Retail price is only P104.75 / 50ml tube.
Sunflower Beauty Oil. This is the product that made Human Nature a household name. It boast of 17 benefits – from being an effective whitening agent to stretch marks remover to make-up remover to body moisturizer to eye moisturizer to pimple marks remover and so on. I am religiously applying this product now in areas where I have stretch marks (I was overweight when I was young and I rarely exercise back then, so I developed stretch marks in my legs, knees and arms). I hope it works (hehe!). Nonetheless, I saw the immediate result of this product when I applied it to the dark pimple mark I have at my right cheek (which I got from the big, ugly pimple I had last week). I started applying the product only last Saturday and already the area surrounding the pimple mark has cleared, making it look smaller that it was last week. I got the smallest bottle (50ml) for only P129.75.
Natural Feminine Wash (Chamomile Fresh). This feminine wash reminds me so much of Nu Skin’s Scion feminine wash which is very mild, is soap-free and doesn’t leave you feeling dry or itchy. But Human Nature’s feminine wash is more than that – it’s almost unscented (which I prefer) and it doesn’t cost as high as Nu Skin’s. In fact, a 200ml bottle of Human Nature’s feminine wash will only cost you P159.75, while Nu Skin’s Scion bottle (250ml) ranges from P400 to P450.
Body Butter (with goat’s milk and cocoa). I picked the unscented one (P50g at only P99.00) but would to try the mango scent next time. The cream is kinda stick and I’m still getting used to it hehe. But I love it’s immediate result on my skin – highly moisturized and smooth. I use this only during weekends (because that’s where I can enjoy longer shower time) and it complements my skin very well. For a while I feared that this will leave a “sticky” feeling after, especially since we’re outdoors most of the time, but it surprisingly did not.
There goes my very elementary beauty products review hehe. This is not a paid post by the way, but I just want you to know that I am really happy with their products so far. What more, I love the convenience of their dealership program because here I could shop at my own pace. I can take time to study their products and although there are no sample products to try, the number of reviews available online will more than help you in deciding which to buy.
Go online shopping at Human Nature now or enjoy the convenience of getting your stock from Human Nature dealers!
