My Oscars Best Dressed 2012

02.28.2012 by Leah // Leave a Comment

Now that we know who won what at the Oscars (too bad The Help, my bet, didn’t win Best Picture), we can look back at the red carpet scenes and vote for our best dressed stars.

I only have 4 in my list who made the most impact at the red carpet (at least for me).   The others I think were very predictable already in their choice of attire (like J. Lo and we can already count the number of times she wore dresses plunging necklines).

Here are my chosen 4, in no particular order:

I dunno if you will agree with me but Viola Davis (who played Aibileen in The Help) shone in her green Vera Wang gown, which highlighted her well-toned body and blended well with her beautiful skin color:

I also love Emma Stone’s flowy Giambattista Valli gown in a beautiful pink-red shade,  Very youthful color for a gown with a classic cut.

Michelle Williams wore a red Louis Vuitton gown with lots of layers (I just love the details), but I think it would’ve looked better with a balloon skirt instead of a fitted one.

Lastly, there’s Angelina Jolie – who looks good at whatever she puts on.   Last year, she wore a classic black gown from Elie Saab and accessorized it with big emerald earrings.   This year, she wore yet another black gown, in Versace this time, with her long (and bony) legs as her only accessory.

Great legs, Angelina but you really should be eating more.

How about you?   Who’s in your list of best dressed stars during the Oscars?

Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will c Hi Daddy! Lapit na ang birthday mo, and you will celebrate it in heaven na ☁️☁️☁️ Pero kasama mo pa rin kami magce-celebrate. Same as last year, we will celebrate it at home dahil may #covid_19 pa rin. You will remember that last year, yours is the first birthday we celebrated in quarantine. I just came from Baguio (for work) and someone from our group tested positive. Hindi na tayo nakapagpa-picture dahil puro nasa #covid_19 ang attention natin. We miss you, daddy! I hope you like your flowers today, mas marami na green leaves kaysa flowers. Just the way you like it. 💚💚 #theoriginalplantito

It taste of home, with warmth and love in every bite! 💕 It's great for breakfast or even as dessert. Best eaten warm with vanilla cream generously poured on top! 😋

It's so spacious and so safe in there. I wore double masks (KN95 and fabric mask from @quins.ph) and my favorite scrub cap from @unisol.ph_ with buttons on both sides for the mask ear loops. It kept my ears from hurting and kept my hair intact too. Never mind if I look more like a nurse than a patient here 😁 Safety first over porma 😜
Taken in February last year just as Japan was star Taken in February last year just as Japan was starting to feel the effects of the #covid_19 pandemic. Hiroshima is a beautiful city and here I was able to take off my face mask because halos walang tao sa mga tourist sites that we went to. Hindi lang halata here but my hands were already burned because of too much washing with disinfectant alcohol 😬

So grateful to have visited this historic city in this extraordinary time.
