I think our little lamp is already due for another make-over, whaddya think?
I know my first try at a DIY lampshade wasn’t 100% successful, as you could see from the weird linings at the top and bottom. While the cloth was colorful and the print beautiful, it needs to blend with the over-all color motif of our apartment which is mainly in shades of brown and light yellow.
Now that I know a little better, I feel I’m ready to re-do it and come up with a cleaner output hehe.
Here are some of my pegs for the new lampshade:
A damask print fabric in green is really nice.
This cityscape design really cool and would make a good conversation piece:
A vintage doiley lampshade injects a shabby chic look in your home.
I love the last one so much I think I’m going to try it but using paper doilies instead.
Here’s another similar project, this time using paper doilies as stencil pattern for the lamp shade.
I am really getting interested in this project! Do you have other ideas on how to transform paper doilies into a nice lampshade?

Hi, you have such great taste and great ideas to match, i love the shabby chic lampshade, it looks so country. Where did you buy those lovely paper doilies by the way? My son sullivan will be christened this september and i was thinking of making my own favors wrapped in kraft and paper doilies, i just don’t know where to look for it. Would appreciate your reply much. Thanks.

Hi Eden! I got those pretty paper doilies from the Landmark Supermarket in Makati =) They’re available in big and small sizes =)
