Today marks the 1st birthday of my nephew and godson, Liam Anthony! He’s my 1st pamangkin by consanguinity (he’s my younger brother’s first-born) so you could say without doubt that I dote on him pretty much.
I clearly remember the day when he was born, he was far away from us (my brother and his family lives in the southern part of the country) so we were always excited for the pictures and any news his father would send to us – through SMS, MMS or email. It would be weeks before I would see him with my own eyes, (imagine the torture). And when we met…..he was, well, sleeping. He slept the whole day on the first day of my visit hehe! But he’s so beautiful, I can’t take my eyes off this little bundle of joy, who is also the first apo in our family.
Liam’s the handsomest baby for me, even at 2 weeks old:
It took me a long while before trying to carry him in my arms (and Liam obviously wasn’t pleased with the way I carried him haha!):
I think I finally got it right, when he was about 2 months old na and a bit bigger (and plumper hehe!):
At my wedding early this year, Liam stood as my bible bearer – the youngest in the entourage, no less! His mom was my Maid of Honor, and up to now I still can’t believe how we pulled this off: Maid of Honor and Bible Bearer walking together during the processional hehe! This mom-and-son moment during the processional was one of the beautiful photos we have from the wedding.
Look how cute Liam was in his Boboli long-sleeve polo (bought by his Lola at Greenbelt 5 the night before the wedding), Gingersnap pants (I think I bought that for him) and his Native shoes in fluo green (from his Daddy).
My moment with Liam during the wedding day. I thought he will cry at the sight of his Ninang Tita all dolled up. But it looks like he was mesmerized, hehe!
Liam has grown since I last saw him in May. He has grown teeth and height and energy and a big voice! He has also learned a lot of things since then, and I am already excited to see him share all those with me (when his mood permits, I guess).
I can’t believe this little boy has “grown up” in just 5 months!
And these perfect almond-shaped eyes say that Liam will grow up to be a precocious child, curious about the world around him, but he’s going to be a bit naughty too hehe!
Happy Birthday, my darling Liamtot! Ninang Tita loves you so much! See you soon! (dalawang tulog na lang!)
