Yesterday was a a memorable one for me. My officemates threw out a surprise bridal shower for me. Turned out they’ve been planning for it for months! And because we are a fair mix of ladies and gents, the party became more of a celebration for my upcoming wedding, than a typical bridal shower with only the ladies as guests.
I fell in love with this cake they especially ordered for me:
Dear AJ (for Dear Daniel) and Hello Leah (for Hello Kitty) Cake from Kink Cakes
This cake was sooo big it was a challenge for AJ and me to take home. The Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel dolls are 100% icing covered.
My Manager, EMM, who is the most creative in our group, prepared these special give-aways – playing on our wedding colors (chocolate brown and pistachio green) and my favorite character on earth, Hello Kitty!
She used plastic wine glasses and put a big chocolate inside. She also made the glass toppers with Dear Daniel and Hello Kitty on them. I super love the brown-and-light green pearls with HK charms at the bottom part of the glasses! Really a labor of love!
There were plenty of food ordered for the night. It was a feast indeed and everyone was in high and good spirit.
There were lots of games and raffle that night, and the most-awaited production number from the gents that left all of us laughing hard haha.
And of course, a bridal shower will not be a shower without the gift giving! I’ve never received that much lace panties in my whole life, I tell you. They came in various colors and shapes hehe.
But the most unique gift came from my kumare, OMC. She gave me a cookbook. She explained that the way to the man’s heart is his stomach, hence, the cookbook. And since she knows very well that I don’t cook, she gave me a compilation of all food delivery pamplets as emergency kit. Ain’t it a smart gift? Hehe.
I will always remember last night as a night filled with fun (not clean fun, though!) and happy faces. I’m really thankful for my officemates for taking time to arrange this and for being there until the party ended at almost 9 in the evening. I felt loved talaga.
Now I know how it feels to be a bride!
